How do you use Newscat ][, I'm lost.

Hello,

I'm trying to use Newscat ][ for the first time and now I have created 2 new profiles. I just want one html page where I can post a newsletter and on another page I want to post other news. So I need two profiles right?

What do I do next? I'm not sure what static pages are, or even profiles. I just need to have Newspro write to two different files instead of just news.txt.

How do I set that up.

I'm a WAY beginner.

could someone move this, and his other post to the corect forum.


once you created the two profiles, create two categories (named the same way). then edit the two profiles, and at the top of the page, choose the appropriate category for each profile. then enable file creation on the profiles, and build news. now whenever you submit news, you can choose which category to post to.

I'm very new to this forum and I wrote the beginner forum and they said I was in the wrong forum, so I wrote this one. What forum SHOULD I be in. It's very confusing to me, but if someone would tell me, I'd go there.

Although, despite the complaints, it's been very helpful.

I want to know how I can change the paths to the News files and to the Archive files? It's automatically writing it to my base level, but the server's set up so that a certain folder: html is visible on the web, so I need my text files written to that folder. How can I change it?
