ok, things are working better now except for the generation of my archive links file

i have my templates, arclink.tmpl and archive.tmpl, with the layout i've designed for the site with <Field: Content> where i want the content to reside

is that all i need?

if so, is there any reason besides CHMOD issues, which i've worked out, that the archive links file won't generate?
