can't find essential coranto files that exist

i must be going crazy

i logged in just yesterday to have coranto tell me that crbackup.pl doesn't exist...but IT DOES!

trying to do a full rebuild, coranto thinks that news.txt is gone....but it ain't gone!!!

same with crcfg.dat

does this sound like a job for deleting and reinstalling coranto?

mind you, things WERE working beautifully before....

question: if i run a bulleting board program on my server as well, will that interfere with coranto?

Try CHMODing news.txt and crcfg.dat to 666. **DO NOT CHMOD any files started with cra_ !

Using a bulletin board will not interfer on Coranto. Try putting both (Coranto and BB) on different directories!

In addition to what was said try CHMODing coranto.cgi 0777 and the directory coranto is in 0777.

Are you sure that the path to news.txt on Change Settings are correct?

In addition, you must CHMOD the directory where news.txt is to 777.

Does it list all the files at once, or one at a time? If there was no more space, there'd still be the unedited files... Can you check with ftp or something else, that they do in fact exist? Seems like an odd occurance.....if it's worked before....

I'm wondering if your ISP has changed the physical path to your directory (and hence Coranto) without telling you? If they had, Coranto would be looking in the wrong place for its files, and you'd need to edit them to reflect the change.
