I would really like the RelatedNews addon to work with CorantoSQL. Anyone managed to do this?

You need to be a bit more specific than that when answering questions. You could try this.

RelatedNews addon that works with CorantoSQL

Postby johnct » Wed Dec 14, 2005 9:52 pm

I thought I was asking a question rather than answering one but thanks for the link anyway . I was hoping someone might have written a simple-to-implement addon like RelatedNews but that works with CorantoSQL.

No, you would have to update the related news addon to work with CorantoSQL. Sorry.

OK, well I've found a very simple solution to my problem.

Basically, if you haven't already done so, install the CorantoSQL DB-Backup addon. This will regularly create a file newsdat-csql.txt in the same directory as newsdat.txt. Then simply locate all references to newsdat.txt in cra_relatednews.pl (lines 364, 669 and 961 in my version) and replace with newsdat-csql.txt.

You can also hack the DB-Backup script to back-up more regularly than the seven-day standard - see supporting documentation.

Please stop double posting. I know you're trying not to let a thread die, but it's confusing :)

Anyway, see my reply.
