[request]Possibility to disable "Reset" button

Postby SrNupsen » Thu Jun 12, 2003 4:18 pm

One rather nasty accident forced me to write this. I was writing a long article, and then accidentally hit the "Reset" button instead of the "Submit" button.

Imagine the grief... (And NO "why didn't you save regularly" remarks, please   )

Well, I got to think of it: It would be handy if one could disable the "Reset" button on the submit news page. I don't think I've ever used it, and it can cause disasterous happenings like the one that just occured to me.

Shouldn't be too difficult? Lawrence?

I think a simple confirmation prompt would be more appropriate.

Yeah. That would avoid accidents but still keep the functionality.

Bumping this, as I think it's a good suggestion for future releases:

When user hits "Reset" in Submit or Modify news, display confirmation prompt. Saves some people a lot of trouble. Lawrence?

That is certainly a solution, but I think it's nice to keep the button there (sometimes you DO want to reset the form)

a reset button resets the form, your talking about adding in a whole new function to it

if you want to reset the form, press refresh
