New index page, BUT...

Postby Jackanape » Fri Jan 19, 2007 3:13 am

I'm blasted if I can't get Coranto to count newlines as breaks...I'm sure I'm missing something, but I've checked several times, and now I'm taking my bleary eyed self to bed.

To see:

Nupsen, could you check my Coranto Settings?

Check the settings for the Text field and make sure that convert newlines is set to Yes. Also if you are using WebWriter it disables the newline conversion to
or
.

I swear to GOD, that wasn't there earlier, when I looked!!! (Unless I was looking at something else, THINKING I was looking at the text field...)

Thanks, Dale...

Jackanape

Great to have a homepage.

Sorry to be a pain but Instead of First Front Page Announcement

it would be better to use

First Homepage Announcement or (better)

First Site Announcement

as " Front Page" is not commonly used and some visitors might confuse it with a (so-called) product that I refuse to mention

And for what is it worth... that page should be active and regularly updated – i.e. I am sure you are aware (and it was explained why on an another thread) that on the CTUS all activities were conducted through the forum, though a majority of users never visits them and more correctly a new user always ends up landing on the homepage of a site.

The homepage is looking great, but you need to remove the dead links to the about us, contact us, etc.

BTW you should – when you have two minutes – add a link from the forum to the homepage

Far as I'm concerned...I think we're a day to early. There are still things to do before we put out this page...small things like the ones that has been pointed out here.

And Jackanape...I need access to the same files that you have if I'm to be any good help here. If not it'll be like driving car with one arm...(stick!)

*Fixed the menu, the right field is hardcoded; ref top sentence.
Hmmm.....I'd like a cup of coffe! Thanks!

I only put this one up because the original index needed replacement, pronto. It still had the "Save Coranto" logo on it, and that was more confusing than anything...we can build out from here...

Swordfish, let's meet in chat today, and figure things out.

BTW you should – when you have two minutes – add a link from the forum to the homepage Wink

Once everything with the site is finalized, I intend to set the forum entirely within the template...

Could we remove the repeated logo? Looks kind of strange to have the top logo repeat itself further down the page...

Well, the credit really goes to Swordfish, who put most of the design work into it...I just helped tweak and debug the css a bit...

Is it deliberate that the main graphic on the Forum is for 'coranto.org' while the one of the front page is still for 'gocoranto.com'?

OK.

Sorry to moan about it, I'm a consistency freak when it comes to this sort of thing!
