Have you guys seen this site? http://www.oscommerce.info/ it's a collaborative effort on creating a doc system for open source webstore oscommerce. This might be something we could try and archieve here.

I need your help. I am browsing the forum looking for repeat questions, solutions that work, and other things that should be collected and put into a form that makes it easier for users to find and for the active people here to use as a resource to point to when repeat questions are ask.

Send an e-mail with your suggestions (a link to the forum topic or topics) to:

suggestions@corantodemo.net

This e-mail address is only temporary and will be deleted when it has served it's purpose.

I just want to let everyone know that I will not be associated with this site in any kind of official capacity from now on.

As long as I am a Coranto user I will be an active user and do my best to give back to the community.

Well...

I am happy to say that I am comitted to the task.
I have time and I feel we have the resources scattered here to put together
a very helpful and complete Coranto tutorials set that could cover the
most common setups.

Also in this project I aim to include the main addons.
I have chosen a rahter complexe news layout that I hope will cover enough
territory to statisfy the most demanding tasks for newcomers and
seasoned users alike.

I am looking a place to host the archived data and possible a script
that might compliment sorting and presenting the info.

if anyone has any helpful advice to give please share your knowlege.
things like this are hard to get going but often get going quickly and
almost roll out on there own after awhile :)

Coranto deserves some serious coverage!

I wonder if dragon would object to us hosting a Wiki on this site. I've never used one before, but I'm almost certain this is what they are made for.

I'd volunteer to be a moderator (might to a little more to get me to admin it).

is wiki sufficient to host and develop a project of this type?
I have no problems with any technology I'm just curious at
this stage :)

To update everyone on this project.

While I am not fully prepared to start writting things permanently
I have been recording most of the approaches I used to managed my newsroom
project.

If you look at my newsroom layout:
http://coranto.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7750&highlight=project
you will see that it potentially uses
almost every possible technique that Coranto has to offer and thanks to
the kind "patient" folk here at "coranto.gwe ilo.org" I have been treated
more than nicely when it came to assistance in figuring things out.

For the task at hand I chose a software called "InnovaStudio.WebCMS"
http://www.innovastudio.com/webcms.asp

It was refered to me by a work coleague and after some research I
concluded it was quite possible the best solution for the job. as my own
newsroom project comes to a close I would like to start an interactive
thread of some sort here to help maintain the document creation and
development as thing more ahead.

My biggest obstaccle on this project will be my own limited knowlege of
programing and the working structure of Coranto. I know you don't have
to be a programer to install and run Coranto knowing how the thing works
and having an knowlege of how the addons work in regards to Coranto
would really help produce a more accurate document.

My goal here is to help put some much needed light on Coranto as a
viable CMS solution and hopefully even plug a huge gaping hole in the
beginer learning field. :)

Well thats it for this, I still need to draft a project outline for the document
and figured out a way to publish it in the net for reference sake. I use
Microsoft project currently I don't know if it has web publishing capabilties
but I'll look into it.
I went deeper into the belly of Coranto and look! I found maginot.

Coranto Docs Wiki

This Wiki is 'under construction' and at this time limits editing of pages to people who have been invited and have an account. If you think you can contribute and want to be considered for an editors account use the Contact Form at Coranto Demo and select Wiki from the 'Send To' dropdown or send me a PM via the forums here.

Let me know if you have a specific area you are interested in contributing to.

If you visit and have any problems or see any errors please let me know.

A really great initiative, the need for a wiki has existed for some time... I hope you have got some replies on your request about people to contribute?

Just wanted to say that I intend to contribute to this wiki, but I have been moving and we are expecting yet another baby around the 20th of September. So I'll just do it when my life, my internet connection and everything is more stable :D

No volunteers, except SrNupsen, to write for the wiki. I have been adding content when I have time and the inclination.
