Getting the CSS styles work for fonts

Postby Tabbu » Fri Jul 06, 2007 2:02 pm

Hi. I'm having trouble with CSS styles. Here's the code:

<style type="text/css">
<!--

.news p {
font-family: Tahoma, Verdana;
font-size: 1.3em;
font-weight: lighter;
margin-left: 25px;
margin-right: 30px;
word-spacing: normal;
text-align: justify;
color: #222020
}

.news a {

font-family: Tahoma, Verdana;
text-decoration: underline;
margin-left: 0px;
margin-right: 0px;
font-size: 1.3em;
font-weight: lighter;
word-spacing: normal;
color: #480200
}

.news a:visited {

font-family: Tahoma, Verdana;
text-decoration: underline;
margin-left: 0px;
margin-right: 0px;
font-size: 1.3em;
font-weight: lighter;
word-spacing: normal;
color: #443e3e
}

.news a:hover {

font-family: Tahoma, Verdana;
text-decoration: underline;
margin-left: 0px;
margin-right: 0px;
font-size: 1.3em;
font-weight: lighter;
word-spacing: normal;
color: #b7c0bf
}
-->
</style>

Then here's html code:

<div align="left" class="news" id="news_div">
<!--#include virtual="../uutiset/uutiset.txt" -->
</div>

Problem is that the paragraph isn't showing right on browser. Links however are seem to be correct.

You see what I mean following this link:

Can you tell me what is wrong here please?

<div align="left" class="news" id="news_div">
<!--#include virtual="../uutiset/uutiset.txt" -->
</div>

Try this:

<div class="news">
<!--#include virtual="../uutiset/uutiset.txt" -->
</div>

Create a new CSS class:

.news {
text-align: left;
}

All your problems should be solved. By the way, this isn't a Coranto issue, it's a style issue. Good Luck with the rest of your project!

Thanks! I tried that, but as you may see, nothing changed in the browser:

ahhh...does your news style contain <p></p> tags? I'd be willing to bet it doesn't, and that's your problem.

Or, add the font family to your .news div class...and this will completely bypass the problem, but if you want to maintain your margins and padding setting sfor your .news p style, be sure to insert the <p>tags into your nes style.

Keep us posted.

Yup, that was it! <p> tags were missing from Coranto. Thank you so much!
