On the website where the Coranto news articles are displayed it now says:

[an error occurred while processing this directive]

When I login to the admin section to Modify News, I get the error:

Unable to open /home/dynasty/public_html/news/newsdat.txt. No such file or directory at crcore.pl line 281.

the newsdat.txt file for some reason is 0kb?

Has the file been uploaded to the proper location, and have you set file permissions properly?

Is this a new installation of an existing one?

This sounds very much like the 'zero byte' problem that usually effects the nsettings.cgi file.

See this thread and this discussion at the Coranto Docs Wiki.

Coranto creates backups of the newsdat.txt file. Take a look in your news directory for newsbak1.txt and newsbak2.txt. Copy the newest one to your local computer so that you have a local backup and then rename it to newsdat.txt. You have lost any news entered since the date of the last backup.

Copy nsettings.cgi to your local machine also.

the moveit addon works well as a backup solution. Also the backmail.pl addon will e-mail a backup to you when it is done.

Which version of Coranto are you using?
