just installed : but not creating news.txt

Postby davidarthurs » Mon Jul 24, 2006 1:28 pm

hi i've just installed coranto - and seems to be fine, but it isn't creating a file called 'news.txt' at all. I've added a few news items and rebuilt and still no news.txt file .

Any ideas why this would be?

Things to check -

Is the news profile enabled?

Main => Admin => Manage Profiles => Enable (under the profile name)

If it is enabled - clear the Filter By Time, Filter by Number, Skip Days, Skip Items settings. If you are using the categories addon make sure you have the Categories set to All Categories.

Check you path. You may be building the file in an unexpected location.

Make sure that the style specified is not empty by viewing it in the style editor.

Did you change the File Name setting for the file on the profile settings page?

Do a full rebuild from the admin menu.

Did you get the problem fixed?

If so , what was the cause?

davidarthurs,

Thanks for the feedback. Letting us know that it wasn't a Coranto problem is helpful. In most cases it is the simple things that we overlook, turning them into big problems
