Error Log: file has no execute permission..HELP!

Postby DesignLoft » Fri Jun 09, 2006 5:47 pm

Hi, I have inserted the URL's into the Coranto.cgi and Viewnews.cgi,
here is the URLS i have inserted into both Coranto and ViewNews.

Code: Select all
$abspath = '~ben/public_html/cgi-bin/coranto';
#

Set the above to the absolute path to Coranto's directory, without
# a trailing slash.
Example:
# $abspath = '/absolute/path/to/coranto'

;

$scripturl = 'http://web10.000025.net/~ben/cgi-bin/coranto/coranto.cgi';
#

when i try now getting onto coranto.cgi It says this:
http://web10.000025.net/~ben/cgi-bin/coranto/coranto.cgi/

Please help where i have gone wrong!

Also the CHMOD on both Coranto.CGI And ViewNews.cgi is 677, and the error log says
[2006-06-09 18:40:21]: error: file has no execute permission: (/usr/home/ben/public_html/cgi-bin/coranto/coranto.cgi)

so i change it to 777 and it says
[2006-06-09 18:40:03]: error: file is writable by others: (/usr/home/ben/public_html/cgi-bin/coranto/coranto.cgi)

So i dont understand where i have gone wrong..

First: Your abspath is wrong (if it's starting with ~ben, it isn't an absolute path). Replace it with:

Code: Select all
/usr/home/ben/public_html/cgi-bin/coranto

Second - the error is exactly what is says (file is writable by others). Chmod 777 won't work - try 755 or 700

Right..Another Problem Now

Postby DesignLoft » Sat Jun 10, 2006 9:43 am

Thanks for that but now I have another problem with the error log,

Premature end of script headers: /usr/home/ben/public_html/cgi-bin/coranto/coranto.cgi
Can't modify concatenation (.) or string in scalar assignment at coranto.cgi line 21, near "'/usr/home/ben/public_html/cgi-bin/coranto';"

?? Totally Confused by that, Any help?

Sounds like you have specified a path for the variable $abspath found at line 21 in coranto.cgi, and made some kind of typo when doing that?
Yes, I am still around...
