500 error -- installing coranto

Postby philn » Mon Jun 05, 2006 11:04 pm

hello everybody,

i really hope someone here can help me. i'm new to coranto, and have spent the last day or so trying to get it to work, but i keep getting a 500 error message (internal server error).

i am using a godaddy.com hosting account, and I have changed the perl tags in coranto.cgi and viewnews.chi to #!/path/to/perl -w .

i did the whole CHMOD thing to all of the files the setup mentioned, but when I try to load coranto.cgi, I get an error message.

I went to the error log on godaddy and it said this:
SoftException in Application.cpp:589: Could not execute script "/home/content/u/s/e/username/html/cgi/coranto.cgi"
Caused by SystemException in API_Linux.cpp:429: execve() for program "/home/content/u/s/e/username/html/cgi/coranto.cgi" failed: No such file or directory
[Mon Jun 5 15:41:35 2006] [error] Premature end of script headers: /var/chroot/home/content/u/s/e/username/html/cgi/coranto.cgi

(except the 'u/s/e/username' actually does have my username and the first three letters in it).

inside my main folder, I have a folder called 'cgi' which is where all of my coranto files (except newsdat.txt) are located. Is my absolute path incorrect?

Please, any help would be greatly appreciated. I've spent hours trying to figure this out to no avail.
