How much customization can we aplpy to Coranto?

Postby Esstee » Wed Jun 01, 2005 1:01 pm

I saw some header and footer in the coranto.cgi file I'm not sure this is
the place to customize Coranto's look and feel if I wanted to intergrate it
into my site look and feel.

I was wondering if anyon could steer me in the right direction as to how to
customize Coranto's interface to fit my theme. I would like to intergrate it
into my vBulletin powerpages with a navbar header and footer typa thing
if that is at all possible.

It's a heavy task to take upon yourself. ;) The main problem would be conserned with upgrading your installation. You may change the installation at hand and use it for yourself (I hope it wouldn't be illegal), but to change every individual installation when you upgrade, that would be a pain.

My advice to you would be to investigate into the Facelift addon: ( http://coranto.org/go/download/addons/facelift ). If you understand Perl and have enough knowledge about Coranto addons programming (you can learn it from the Addon creation guide) then you might give it a whirl. :)

Yes I understand, further examining of the files have made it clear that this
would not mix well with PHP pages.

Someone on another site mentioned frames as an alternative, I suppose
if I did that I could then create a theme to match and I guess that in itself
wouldn't look to shabby :)

thx for the reply :D
