add small counter

Could someone tell me how to add a small counter for the number of post for each category...

I doing a pretty straight forward free classified ad and which to add the number of post beside the category.

The addon Armiger does something like that I think, although I never had much luck getting it to work.

The alternative is to make up a new Profile, and write a Style for it that does nothing except count the news items and put the final value in $newshtml. Then you include that file into your page.
