Viewnews is for creating dynamic pages on the fly. Maginot is an addon that if installed and enabled creates static HTML files on your server.

For this to work you have to create Maginot profiles. The <MaginotFile: Profilename> part will not work unless you have a Maginot profile (NOT a standard one) named "Profilename".

YEs, but are you using "Maginot Profiles" for your news? I think that's what Nupsen is getting at.

I have Maginot installed as well, and use it to an extent, but I do not use Maginot profiles...it could be similar for you?

When creating a new profile, you can choose between a standard profile or a Maginot profile. You have to create Maginot profiles if you want to use the <MaginotFile: profile_name> feature.

If you have a Maginot profile named News it shouldn't do this.

Do you have a Maginot profile called "News"? (not "news")

Is it enabled?

If it's in a Searchnews style (I'm guessing, since you didn't tell us anything), did you try using <SN: URL> instead of <MaginotFile: news> as it says in the Searchnews readme?
